Aberystwyth Town FC are delighted to announce that Cledan Davies has signed forms to remain at Park Avenue for season 2015/6. Tregaron born Cledan returned to the club in June 2012 after a season away. Signed in 2009 from Tregaron Turfs after impressing then Aberystwyth Town boss Brian Coyne, left footed Cledan, happy at left back or as a left winger, became an important part of the team during his first season at the club. After being out with an ankle injury for most of the 2010/11 season, and finding his first team chances limited, Cledan spent time on loan at Penrhyncoch before signing for Tomi Morgan at Carmarthen in 2011. After starting most games and showing his worth at Carmarthen, Tomi wasted no time in bringing Cledan back to his local Welsh Premier team for the new season, and in his first season back, won Supporter's Player of the Year. Davies was an ever present in 2013/4 and was an integral part of the side which reached the Welsh Cup Final. Last season he represented the Black and Greens in the UEFA Europa League, and achieved a Top Four finish with Ian Hughes' men. Cledan is known for his swashbuckling attacking runs down the left flank, pinpoint crosses and occasional brilliant strikes, however one of his most memorable contributions last season was a 45 minute cameo in goal in October, when he produced one astonishing left handed save in the rain to keep a clean sheet at home to Newtown. Now aged 25, Cledan has made 154 WPL appearances, scoring 10 goals along the way. Croeso nol Cledan - rwyt ti'n gaffaeliad i'r tim! Comments are closed.
