 Aberystwyth Town are excited to announce a home pre-season friendly against National League North side AFC Telford on Friday 27th July at 8p.m.
The fixture will follow Aber’s home friendly against Halesowen Town on July 21st and will provide the black and greens with another stern test ahead of the start of the 2018/19 JD Welsh Premier League season. The National League North outfit are managed by Gavin Cowan and captained by former Newtown stalwart central defender Shane Sutton. Aber’s links with the Shropshire side go way back to the days when former black and greens manager Tomi Morgan used to play for the New Bucks. They also have a rich history as FA Cup giantkillers – beating Brentford and Crewe Alexandra back in 2003 to reach the fourth round of the competition! The fixture also gives Aber’s supporters another opportunity to see new signings Wes Baynes and Steff Edwards in action, as the seasiders’ squad continue their preparations ahead of their JD Welsh Premier League season opener against Llandudno on August 10th.
