Aberystwyth Town return home for the first time in nearly a month this Saturday, as Pontypridd United visit for a crucial match which will be streamed live online on Sgorio.
 
Six out of Aber’s seven wins so far this season have come at home, including a five match winning run at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue which lasted from September until December. These home comforts will be invaluable during Phase 2 as Anthony Williams’ side look to push up the JD Cymru Premier table and make a bid for 7th place and a shot at the end of season playoffs.
 
The Seasiders will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing defeat at Flint Town United, whilst Pontypridd come into the game on the back of a 4-0 victory at home to Airbus UK Broughton – their third win in six league games since Christmas. The weekends results meant that the two sides switched places in the live table, but a win for Aber on Saturday would see this reversed once again.
 
This will be the sides third meeting of the season so far. Pontypridd secured a 2-1 in the first match at USW Sport Park in August, whilst Aber won the return match by the same scoreline in November.
 
Ben Ahmun will be the man to watch for Pontypridd. The former Penybont striker has already netted 10 goals this season – one of only 6 players to hit double figures in the league so far. Joe Evans and Clayton Green have netted 3 goals each for the visitors also, whilst Danny Williams and Jarrad Wright have 2 each.
 
One opposition player who will need no introduction to the Black & Green faithful is Owain Jones, who spent the last two seasons at Park Avenue before moving to Pontypridd in the summer. Owain made 41 league appearances in that time, bagging 7 league goals.
