Aberystwyth Town congratulate their wonderful youth side, the Black and Green Under 19s, on winning the Welsh Premier Development League (South) for the second season running. The side, expertly managed by Bari Morgan and his Assistant Stefano Antoniazzi, secured the championship with a game to spare following a 1-0 win at Haverfordwest County last night.
The side has earned 42 points from 17 matches to date, scoring 57 goals whilst conceding only 11, and are five points ahead of Cardiff Met with a single game remaining. Town have also reached the Central Wales FA Youth Cup Final and Harri Rowe and Alex Pennock were selected for the Welsh Schools squad, along with Lee Jenkins who captained the side away to England and at home to Northern Ireland at Park Avenue. Bari Morgan said last night: “I am very proud of the entire Aberystwyth Town under 19s Squad. They have been rewarded for all their hard work throughout the season. Securing back-to-back titles is a great achievement: Da Iawn bechgyn. We now have two Finals to look forward to so the hard work continues!” The team will be presented with their Trophy and medals prior to Friday’s vital JD Welsh Premier League match at Park Avenue between Aber Town and Cefn Druids, and supporters are encouraged to take their places early to celebrate a remarkable achievement for the side. They now progress to the National Final to defend the trophy they won at Latham Park, Newtown last season with a 1-0 win over The New Saints. The same venue will host this year’s Final, where Northern Champions Cefn Druids await on Monday 6th May with a 6.30pm kick off. A good following of Town supporters are certain to travel to cheer on Aber’s all conquering youth side. Comments are closed.
