JD Cymru Premier Saturday 7th September (ko 2.30pm) Aberystwyth Town v Airbus UK Broughton Aberystwyth Town host their first Saturday match of the season in two days time – and do so with an added spring in their step following an excellent 2-1 away win at Cefn Druids six days ago. Aber certainly went through it last week, with inquests happening left, right and centre following the heavy August Bank Holiday defeat at home to The New Saints. Town’s next match was always likely to be viewed as a season defining game, and, cheered on by a superbly loyal away support of over 35 Black and Greens fans, Aber passed the test thanks to Marc Williams’ stunner, and Geoff Kellaway’s dramatic 87th minute winner. A significant win saw Matthew Bishop’s men finishing a tumultuous week in the Top Six! The challenge now is to kick on and cement the side’s Championship Conference berth – but Saturday’s match is a dangerous game for Aberystwyth. Cymru Alliance Champions Airbus have performed well in all four of their Cymru Premier opening games, losing narrowly on each occasion. They are certain to pick up points at some stage before long, and Aber will know that unless they are on their game, that could happen on Saturday. Airbus’ Squad has a number of faces familiar to seasoned Welsh Prem followers, and with onetime Black and Green Dave Roberts in goal, they have a connection to Park Avenue too. Town will be boosted by the Deadline Day signing of Swansea City loanee Tom Price, and he will go straight into Aber’s squad as number 21. The Match will be preceded by a minute's silence for Club Legend Bryan Pugh-Jones, who sadly passed away last week. Admission for this JD Cymru Premier clash will cost £7 for Adults, £4 for Concessions and just £1 for Kids. Consider yourself invited! Comments are closed.
