JD Welsh Premier League
Friday 12th October (7:45p.m Kick Off) Aberystwyth Town v Caernarfon Town Aberystwyth Town will look to get back to winning ways as they host Caernarfon Town in the JD Welsh Premier League at Park Avenue on Friday evening. The seasiders are without a win in their last four games in all competitions, and will be keen to stop the rot as they look to keep pace with the league's top six during a crucial few weeks of league action. Last friday's defeat to Cefn Druids was a difficult pill to swallow for the black and greens, after performing much better than they had done in their previous three fixtures but still coming away empty handed. Assistant Manager, Gavin Allen, commented on the side's performance levels after the game, stating "We controlled large parts of the game tonight, and it was a much improved performance from last week which gives us something to build and improve on now". Aber's assistant was also keen to emphasise the need for the players to maintain their belief and confidence, despite defeat, stating "There were some very good performances throughout the team again tonight, we just made a couple of wrong decisions in key areas, but we know that on our day we can beat anybody in the league and we'll take that attitude into the Caernarfon game Friday". The seasiders are hopeful that wingman Ryan Edwards will be fully fit for Friday's clash after sitting out last weekend's victory against Druids, whilst Joe Phillips will also be pushing for a start after suffering from a bout of tonsillitis last week. Friday's visitors Caernarfon have enjoyed an excellent start to the season on their return to the JD Welsh Premier League, picking up 14 points from their opening 9 games and currently sitting in 6th place in the league table. Manager Sean Eardley has been full of praise for his players thus far, including former black and greens Jamie Crowther and Darren Thomas who will make their return to Park Avenue with the Cofi's on Friday evening. We’re delighted to confirm that main club sponsors Aberystwyth University have chosen this Friday's game as the second of four free games for students. Simply show your Aber Card at the gate and get in for free! A huge crowd is expected for what promises to be a cracker under the Friday night lights, and kick off at Park Avenue is at 7:45p.m. Admission costs £8 adults, £5 concessions and £2 for u16's...don't let the weather forecast dampen your spirits as the black and greens look to get back to winning ways!
