JD Welsh Premier League Saturday 9th September (ko 2.30pm) Aberystwyth Town v Cardiff Met Aber Town are looking forward to their first Saturday home game of 2017/8 with Cardiff Met the visitors to Park Avenue in 48 hours time. The Seasiders will be hoping for an improvement in fortunes after two consecutive 2-0 defeats in WPL games at home to Llandudno and away to Cefn Druids. Black and Green shoots of recovery were however apparent in last week's 2-0 League Cup win at Caersws, with midfielders Ashley Young and Jack Rimmer on target, and with three strikers back in contention Manager Neville Powell will have many more options at his disposal on Saturday afternoon. Forwards Craig Hobson, John Owen and Luke Borrelli were all ruled out of Town's last match, and although Malcolm Melvin is sidelined for a weeks with a cheekbone injury it is good to report that Town's injury crisis up front has passed. Cardiff Met go into the game as favourites after two wins from three have elevated them to third place in the Welsh Premier League, but Town will be looking for revenge after Met denied them a Top Six place with a victory on their last visit to Park Avenue last January, a result which had massive ramifications for both Clubs as 2016/7 progressed. Aber Town's Under 19s side showed their Senior counterparts the way last weekend with a 4-2 win away to Cardiff Met, so the scene is set for an intriguing tussle at Park Avenue. Kick off is at 2.30pm and admission will cost £7 for Adults, £4 for Concessions and £1 for Children. It's the place to be on a Saturday afternoon! Comments are closed.
