JD Welsh Premier League Friday 4th January (7:45 p.m Kick Off) Aberystwyth Town v Connah's Quay Nomads Aberystwyth Town will look to keep their top six dreams alive as they face JD Welsh Premier League leaders Connah's Quay Nomads at Park Avenue on Friday evening. The Seasiders have suffered four consecutive JD Welsh Premier League defeats, and with just two games remaining before the league split later this month, will be keen to produce two huge performances as they look to sneak into the top half of the table. Nev Powell's side lie just a point outside the top six as things stand, and the Aber manager insists his side are still very much alive in the race to finish in the top half ahead of the split. "When things aren't going your way with results, you never seem to get the lucky breaks and decisions, and we've produced a good away performance but come away with nothing", said Powell after Sunday's defeat to Newtown. He went on to add; "While it's still mathematically possible for us to finish in the top six, we'll keep working hard and keep fighting. If the lads show that same desire and attitude as they did today, we've still got every chance". Indeed, if the Black and Greens are to turn things around in the next fortnight, they will have to produce two of their best performances yet as they face the top two teams in the league. Aber face Connah's Quay at Park Avenue on Friday before travelling to Jenner Park to face Barry Town next Saturday (12th January). Nevertheless, one of Town's best performances of last season came against Andy Morrison's side, as a Joe Phillips hat trick secured a 4-2 victory against the Nomads at Park Avenue last January. The Seasiders will be hopeful of starting 2019 in similar fashion under the Park Avenue lights this Friday evening. Friday's visitors Connah's Quay Nomads travel to Aber in fine form, currently top of the JD Welsh Premier League table. Andy Morrison's side have won four out of their last five games in all competitions, and have beaten the Seasiders on their last two occasions, most recently winning 2-1 at The Deeside Stadium back in August. In what is sure to be a thriller under the Park Avenue lights, the Seasiders will have no fear as they enter the game knowing they need a positive result, whilst the Nomads will look to continue their charge for the JD Welsh Premier League title. Kick off at Park Avenue on Friday is at 7:45p.m and admission costs £8 adults, £5 concessions and £2 for u16's. The Black and Greens need your great support once more as they look to upset the league leaders! Comments are closed.
