![]() JD Welsh Premier League Friday 16th February (8p.m Kick Off) Aberystwyth Town v Prestatyn Town Aberystwyth Town will look to continue their excellent recent home form as they welcome Prestatyn Town to Park Avenue in the JD Welsh Premier League on Friday evening. Aber have won six out of their last eight home games in all competitions, scoring 24 goals in the process, and will again be looking to turn Park Avenue into a fortress as they host Gareth Wilson’s side on Friday evening. Seasiders boss Nev Powell emphasised how pleased he was with his side’s recent home form in an interview with Aber Town’s Youtube channel after last weekend’s victory. Powell commented “Our home form has been really good, we’re scoring goals and passing the ball well, and we’ve made this place a bit of a fortress recently. If the players continue to work as hard as they have been, then we have to fancy ourselves to pick up more victories at home”. Aber’s manager, along with many supporters, also admitted how difficult it was to pick a standout performer after last weekend’s excellent collective performance, but was keen to sing the praises of captain Ashley Young in particular. Powell stated “Ashley’s gone into the centre-back position in recent weeks and hasn’t put a foot wrong, and he marshalled the defence brilliantly once again”. Town will be hopeful that his fine form continues as he looks to captain the side to yet another positive home result on Friday evening. Powell’s squad is expected to look the same as the one that beat Llandudno, with the exception of young starlet Matthew Jones, who’s a major doubt after suffering a shoulder injury during last weekend’s victory. Visitors Prestatyn Town travel to Park Avenue without a win in any of their previous 10 games in all competitions, currently lying in 12th place in the JD Welsh Premier League table. Following the recent departure of long-serving manager Neil Gibson, former player Gareth Wilson now manages the seasiders. The sides have previously met twice this season, with Aber coming out on top twice; a narrow 2-1 victory at Bastion Gardens back in October and a resounding 7-1 victory at Park Avenue in December. In what is another crunch clash in the JD Welsh Premier League, kick off at Park Avenue on Friday night is at 8p.m, and admission costs £7 for adults, £4 concessions and £1 children. Get yourselves down to Park Avenue and get behind the black and greens as they seek another positive home result! Comments are closed.
