Aber Town capped off a successful seven days by progressing into the semi-finals of the Genero Adran Trophy, beating Adran North side Felinheli 4-0 away from home. Played at Treborth Playing Fields in Bangor, the Seasiders took the lead inside the first ten minutes of the game through Gwenllian Jones. After a well-timed ball through from Niamh Duggan, Jones chipped the ball over goalkeeper Catrin Beech to put Aber ahead in North Wales. That lead was doubled in the 20th minute through captain for the day Rebecca Mathias. Set-up by Duggan for her second assist of the afternoon, a corner from the right found Mathias from just a few yards out, and she made no mistake in heading it into the back of the net. Town added a third just before halftime. It was Gwen Jones again, who turned and volleyed home from the edge of the area to put the Seasiders in full control.
In a fairly quiet second half, Bethan Roberts added her name to the scoresheet. A ball across the edge of the box from substitute Rebecca Challinor found Roberts, who fired home a powerful shot to ensure Aberystwyth Town progressed into the Semi-Finals of the Genero Adran Trophy. The Seasiders will face Cardiff City away from home in the Semi-Finals this Sunday, 25th February. Rebecca Mathias said after the game: “It was important for us to get the job done. We always knew it was going to be a tough game, we didn’t quite know what to expect. It was just sticking to what we do well and working hard."
