Uwchgynghrair Genero Adran Premier Sul/Sunday 24 Mawrth/March Tref Aberystwyth Town 0 Dinas Caerdydd/Cardiff City 2 Er waethaf perfformiad positif yn erbyn y Pencampwyr, colli fu hanes Menywod Tref Aber o 2-0 brynhawn Sul yn erbyn Dinas Caerdydd. Aber Town Women were defeated 2-0 at Park Avenue on Sunday afternoon against Cardiff City, despite a positive performance against the champions. The score was goalless at halftime, with Lleucu Mathias having the best opportunity of the first half for the Seasiders, but she couldn’t quite hit the target after rounding City goalkeeper Anna Phelps.
Town defended well for large parts of the game but City finally broke through in the 68th minute. A ball into the middle couldn’t be dealt with and was eventually fired home by Mikayla Cook to give the Bluebirds the lead. Seren Watkins put the game to bed with just seconds to go, finishing into the bottom right corner to put Cardiff one game away from reclaiming the Genero Adran Premier title. Sunday’s player of the match, chosen by match sponsor Tafarn Y Roosters, was goalkeeper Sophie Steele. Aber face Wrexham next at Park Avenue on Wednesday night, 7:45pm kick-off. Assistant Manager Josh Jones said after the game: “Overall, I am extremely proud and positive. I thought nothing separated us for the first 45. We switched off for two goals which is frustrating, but the majority is positive.” More reaction from Josh Jones, Amy Jenkins and Gwenllian Mason is available over on our social media accounts - @abertownwomen Comments are closed.
