 Pre Season Friendly
Friday 5th August (kick off 7.30pm) Afan Lido v Aberystwyth Town Aberystwyth Town travel to Aberafon Beach on Friday night for their final pre season friendly of 2016 away to Welsh League Division One side Afan Lido. Matthew Bishop's side will journey South in good heart having won all four of their matches to date, at Caernarfon (2-1), Caersws (4-0), Porthmadog (3-1) and Penrhyncoch (2-0). While the results have been pleasing the style of play has also been impressing the pundits as Aber prepare for life on the 3G come October. However the immediate aim is the big Dafabet WPL Kick off a week on Sunday, away to The New Saints. Bishop has again strengthened his squad this week the the capture of Lewis Coyle from Prescot Cables, and he is likely to play some part in Friday night's Final Rehearsal. Afan Lido for their part boast a number of players with WPL experience, amongst them Sasha Walters, Alex Gammond and Chris Hartland, and their pre season has gone well to date with wins over Garden Village (5-1), Briton Ferry (4-1) and Aberbargoed Buds (3-2). Town know therefore that a tough task awaits, but a Perfect Pre season is the carrot dangling ahead of the Black and Greens. Kick off at the Marston Stadium is 7.30pm.
