Aberystwyth Town Women are back in league action on Sunday - and look to bounce back from two painful defeats in cup semi-finals in the last fortnight. Defeats to Cardiff Met in the Genero Adran Trophy and Briton Ferry Llansawel in the FAW Women's Cup have stung Gav Allen's side, but he is confident they will be on their game as they take on Pontypridd United (kick-off 2pm at Park Avenue).
"We must look at the positives - that we've reached two semi-finals, and we've got to move on quickly, make sure we're safe in this league," he said. "We need to finish off strongly and get ready for next season. We'll be giving opportunities to our young players coming through, and in the next couple of weeks looking to recruit again. "We know we need to close the gap on that top three, and recruitment through the summer and games pre-season and getting a stronger squad is going to be vital for us to go and compete again - and hopefully get into another couple of semi-finals, perhaps even further, next season."
