Aberystwyth Town are delighted to announce the Deadline Day return of defender Louis Bradford from The New Saints on loan until the end of January 2022. The 19-year-old re-joins Town following an impressive season in Black & Green during the 2020/21 campaign.
Wolverhampton-born Louis joined TNS Academy at U15 level following time with Shrewsbury Town, where he impressed at youth level enough so to secure himself a loan move in the JD Cymru Premier last season. A tall and agile defender, Louis showed his proficiency through the middle or as a right-back throughout the campaign, making 25 starts for Town, scoring twice and assisting thrice.
Louis gained invaluable experience featuring on the bench for both legs of TNS’ 2nd and 3rd Round Europa Conference League qualifiers against Kauno Zalgiris and Viktoria Plzen respectively in August. Louis later played every minute of The Saints’ first three league matches against Newtown, Caernarfon Town, and Haverfordwest County, scoring in their second outing and keeping a clean sheet in their third. Louis now returns to Park Avenue to secure further first-team football.
Louis told us:
“I’m happy to be back playing at Aber for the season ahead. I’ve been in contact with Corbs and his team since the start of pre-season to get the loan deal done and find out their plans for the season which I’m happy to be part of now.
I thought last season was a mixed one where we were winning and losing games, but later on in the campaign we really kicked on and showed lots of glimpses of what we were capable of – especially the 2-1 home win against Haverfordwest. I can’t wait to get back involved at Park Ave, especially in front of the Aber fans, and to get us as far up the table as possible!”
First-Team Coach Bari Morgan added:
”We are very happy to have got Bradders back with us on loan. He was excellent for us last season and we look forward to him coming into our squad. He’s full of confidence having played for TNS in their opening games so already comes here match fit and having spoken to him, he’s excited and raring to get going here.
We also want to put on record our thanks to TNS and Anthony Limbrick for helping us to get this sorted."
