Caernarfon Town vs Aberystwyth Town
JD Cymru Premier Friday 21st October 7.45pm KO Aber Town hit the road again tomorrow night with The Oval, Caernarfon the venue for the Seasiders latest Cymru Premier outing. Sprits will be high in the Black & Green ranks, with progression in the Welsh Cup two weeks ago followed by last Friday’s third successive home win, which came against Haverfordwest County in front of the Sgorio cameras and saw Anthony Williams’ men rise to 8th in the Cymru Premier table. Tomorrow nights hosts, Caernarfon Town, currently sit three places and three points ahead of Aber, having played one game less. They have taken 5 wins from their opening 9 games, losing the remaining 4. Although both teams are yet to draw a league game this season, this fixture has ended in a stalemate in the previous two seasons. Last season, the points were shared in an entertaining 3-3 draw just before Christmas, whilst in 2020/21 a last minute Jamie Veale free-kick levelled matters at 2-2 on the day Cymru Premier football returned after a 3-month hiatus due to the Covid-19 winter lockdown. There are a couple of familiar faces in the Caernarfon squad this season. Ben Wynne, who is currently the hosts top goal scorer this season with 4 goals, spent the latter half of last season at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue before moving north in the summer, whilst Darren Thomas signed for Aber from Caernarfon back in 2015 during Ian Hughes’ tenure and had a six month spell in Black & Green before returning to The Oval, where he continues to hit the net on a regular basis, having netted 3 times already this season. The Oval can be found on Marcus Street, Caernarfon and the postcode for your sat-nav is LL55 2HT. Its time for another Friday night on the road with ATFC! Comments are closed.
