Aberystwyth Town are delighted to announce an extension to the loan of Connor Roberts from The New Saints and the return of Green Army favourite Jon Owen from CPD Porthmadog.
Loanee Connor is set to complete a second full season at Park Avenue having first joined for the 19/20 season from the then-league champions. Making 13 appearances so far this season, Connor has consistently been one of Town’s best performers, filling an important leadership role as a veteran in Aber’s youthful squad. On the international stage, Roberts has represented Wales at U19s level four times with six appearances for the U21s. In 2014, he received a call-up to the senior squad for a friendly against the Netherlands, and was selected to the Cymru C squad in March 2020 alongside teammate Lee Jenkins to face England C, though the match was forced to be cancelled. Affectionately known as “Jon y Cigydd” (the Butcher) by certain factions of the Green Army, Jon Owen makes his return to Park Avenue for a second spell. Formerly of Bangor City, Llangefni Town, Caersws, Rhyl, Llandudno, and Cefn Druids, the 28-year-old Welsh-speaking attacker spent 18-months in Black & Green, becoming a regular starter after joining in January 2017. Known for his pace, power, and ability to make something out of nothing, Jon gives Town an experienced option in attack. We thank Craig Paprinyk and all at CPD Porthmadog for their cooperation in the matter. Croeso nol i Goedlan y Parc chi’ch ddau! Comments are closed.
