With Wyn Thomas' First Team Squad taking a well earned break on Saturday, atfc.org.uk reflects on the weekend's results and their implications for Aber Town FC.
Both Welsh Cup Semi Finals were won by huge margins, and a New Saints v Airbus Final on Monday May 2nd means there are now two possible UEFA Europa League Play Off scenarios, depending on who wins the Final. If TNS win the Final the teams in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th will contest the Play Offs, which will consist of Semi Finals on May 7th (4th v 7th and 5th v 6th) and a Final on May 14th. This is the same arrangement as Aber encountered last year. However, should Airbus win, the Play Offs will be extended to 8th place, which will necessitate an additional Play Off Quarter Final between the 7th and 8th sides, likely to be held on the evening of Wednesday May 4th. The Semi Finals will then continue with 3rd v 7th or 8th, and 4th v 6th on May 7th, and the Final on May 14th. Bangor's win over Haverfordwest County finally relegated the Pembrokeshire Bluebirds and lifted the Citizens three points clear of the Black and Greens in seventh, making it even more likely that Aber's last game of the season at home to Bangor will be decisive. Haverfordwest travel to Carmarthen tomorrow night, before visiting Park Avenue on Friday night (ko 7.45pm). We hope you are as excited as we are! Comments are closed.
