 Mae CPD Tref Aberystwyth yn falch i gyhoeddi bod y gôl-geidwad Dave Jones wedi cytuno i estynnu ei gytundeb â'r Clwb ar gyfer y tymor JD Cymru Premier 2024/25 -- ei eilfed mewn Gwyrdd a Du! Aberystwyth Town FC are delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Dave Jones has extended his stay with the Club for the 2024/25 JD Cymru Premier season -- his second in Black and Green! Following his departure from Shrewsbury Town as a youth player, Dave made his first league start with Newtown AFC at just 17 years old in 2007. He made 60 appearances for The Robins before spells with neighbours Welshpool Town and Caersws - returning to Latham Park in 2014. Dave thereafter held the No.1 shirt until his departure in May 2023. During his spell, Dave amassed 10 continental appearances thanks to qualifying campaigns in the 2015/16 Europa League, and 2021/22 & 2022/23 European Conference Leagues - progressing through the 1st Round on two occasions, beating Valletta in 2015 and HB Torshavn in 2022. Dave switched Powys for Ceredigion in June 2023 and made 33 total appearances for Town, missing just three league games. He finished Top 5 league-wide in clean sheets kept with 8 -- doubling his tally from the previous season -- and proved himself again as one of the best in the JD Cymru Premier. Now returning for Season Two at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue Stadium, the Green Army will be overjoyed to see Dave picking up where he left off last term. Manager Anthony Williams told us: "We're delighted to keep Dave with us again this season. He's the most consistent goalkeeper in the league -- you know what you're getting from Dave week in week out, and his experience is a huge asset to our squad.
