The Football Association of Wales and the Welsh Premier League are conducting further research with supporters on the time period of the League’s calendar.
Following on from research conducted via the Welsh Premier League Fan Survey last season, this fans vote on the Welsh Domestic Football Season has been compiled. Currently various factors including; poor weather conditions during the months of November to February result in the postponements and re-scheduling of most fixtures across various levels of the Welsh Domestic Pyramid. External television deals with other leagues highlighting the expansion of their live televised coverage to Friday's could threaten attendance throughout the pyramid during a traditional August to May season. There is a possible opportunity of capitalising upon this by shifting the Welsh Domestic Football Season to benefit our National Leagues which would lend to the development and sustainability of it's clubs.
