Aber Town Manager Anthony Williams expressed his pride after a really positive performance from the Black and Greens at Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest on Saturday evening, in his post match interview with Sgorio’s Sioned Dafydd: “We came with a game plan to frustrate them, we rode our luck a little bit in the first half, but the second half we dominated, we hit the bar, we could have gone two nil. Just a little one where they scored the goal but overall you couldn’t ask any more from them. Lady Luck wasn’t on our side today”. Town came into the game with some significant absences, with Jonathan Evans suspended and four other players unavailable with knocks, however the eleven players who started and finished the game did themselves proud: “It’s pleasing, they stuck to the game plan and recognised where they were playing. I was really low on bodies today but do you know what, they’ve given their all and we kick on to next week and go again.” Aber have one more match to come, at home to Caernarfon Town on Saturday, and are already looking forward to the game: “It’s only two defeats now in ten games and we’ve come here disappointed that we drew – it says a lot about the group. (Next week) is a one off game. We go into it full of confidence, full of belief and we’ll go again!”. Appreciation also came from other quarters. Suspended striker Jonathan Evans tweeted after the game “what a performance, 5-6 players missing, deserved 3 points today fantastic battling!!”; Club Media Officer Matthew Wallace posted “so proud of the performance today from Aber Town, superb character and desire when up against it”; and supporter Neil Courtney voiced his approval on Facebook: “Perfformiad gora’ ers sbel … noson arall – tri phwynt!” Highlights of Saturday’s game will be shown on Sgorio this evening at 10pm.
