Dafabet Welsh Premier League Friday 25th September (Kick off 7.45pm) Bangor City v Aberystwyth Town The Dafabet Welsh Premier League Action never stops at Aberystwyth Town and a mere 20 hours on from the final whistle of the Black and Greens epic encounter with Bala last night, thoughts are already turning to Friday night's game away to Bangor City at the Bangor University Stadium (ko 7.45pm). A draw last night was scant reward for a match which Aber dominated for long periods, nevertheless the point gained did take them back into the Top Six, which is now identical in make up to last season's Elite. Friday night's game pits Town against one of the three sides they share the 7 point tally with, so a positive result would give Ian Hughes' men some breathing space. Bangor are fresh from their first home win of the season, a 2-1 win over Gap Connah's Quay, though their striker Porya Ahmadi was sent off in that game and will miss Friday's encounter. They nevertheless have a good record recently against the Seasiders and have not lost to Aber in three years. Aber Manager Ian Hughes told atfc.org.uk this afternoon: "It's been a good week so far, winning comprehensively away at Carmarthen then putting in probably the best display of the season against leave leaders Bala. We should have won the game with the amount of chances we created. Performances have been improving since the start of the season and if we can pick up some more points on Friday it will leave us in a good position. The league is very tight at the moment and we know we will have to be on our game for 90 minutes on Friday. We look a much more solid unit and will have to be solid once again come the weekend. Thank you to the supporters on Tuesday, I really thought we were going to score the winner and the crowd kept pushing us on. We are getting stronger and with Rhys Griffiths nearing full match fitness it give us a full squad to chose from. We are in the middle of 7 games in 21 days which is a big ask for any team, so we will have to call on all of our squad in the coming weeks." The Coach leaves Park Avenue at 3.45pm and a Twilight Trip to Bangor will cost you a mere £10, or £5 for Students. Entertainment is Guaranteed!
