Mae’n bleser gan Glwb Pêl-droed Aberystwyth gyhoeddi bod y blaenwr Calum Huxley wedi ymuno â'r clwb cyn tymor Uwch Gynghrair Cymru JD 2023/24! Yn flaenorol ar lyfrau Wrecsam a Sheffield Wednesday, mae Calum yn ymuno â'r clwb wedi cyfnodau byr o amgylch clybiau cynghrair Cymru a Lloegr.
Aberystwyth Town Football Club are delighted to announce the arrival of forward Calum Huxley ahead of the 2023/24 JD Cymru Premier season! Formerly on the books at Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday, Calum joins the Seasiders after brief stints around the Welsh and English leagues.
Chester-born Calum began his career with Wrexham AFC where he made a handful of first-team appearances in the club's Scottish Challenge Cup ties before he was signed by Sheffield Wednesday in January 2021 following a successful trial period -- where he scored on his U23 debut against Cardiff City!
Following release from The Owls in Summer 2021, Calum joined Caernarfon Town where he made a handful of appearances in Phase 1 of 2021/22. Stints with Nantwich Town, Eccleshall Town, and Witton Albion followed before Calum spent Phase 2 of 2022/23 with Flint Town United most recently.
Still just 21-years-old, Calum joins Town looking to make an impact in the final third.
Calum told us:
"My impressions of the club having played Aber a couple of times are of a great fan base, set-up, and a tight knit group which I wanted to be a part of having spoken to Jack Thorn and Taff.
Thorny had hinted at me joining for a while so when the opportunity came I couldn’t turn it down. I spoke to Taff, he outlined the plan of what he wants from this season and I was sold on it.
I think with the players Taff has brought in the squad looks strong and we should be pushing to be in the top half of the table.
In terms of myself, I’m a direct and creative player who enjoys creating opportunities for myself and others in the middle and final third of the pitch."
Manager Taff commented:
"Calum is a very talented attacking player having had experience within the youth programme at Sheffield Wednesday, then first-team football at both Welsh Premier and English systems.
At 21-years-old, he has the opportunity to establish himself in this league."
Croeso i Geredigion, Calum!
