Aberystwyth Town vs Caernarfon Town
JD Cymru Premier Saturday 9th October 2.30pm KO Match Day 8 of the 2021/22 season sees Caernarfon Town visit Ceredigion, which will be the first time this year’s intake of Aberystwyth University students will have the opportunity to watch the famous Black & Greens live at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue! This weekend’s visitors have had a decent start to the campaign and currently sit just outside the top 3 on 11 points and as always will provide a stern test for the Black & Greens. Huw Griffiths’ side have 3 wins from the opening 7 matches, in addition to 2 draws and 2 defeats. They are unbeaten in 4 league games coming into this one and progressed in the Welsh Cup two weeks ago by beating Prestatyn Town. Danny Gossett and former Seasider Darren Thomas are the men to watch at the moment, both having scored 3 goals so far this term. Gwion Dafydd and Cai Jones have also contributed 2 goals each, whilst at the other end young goalkeeper Jakub Ojnzynski has kept three clean sheets in the league. Antonio Corbisiero’s Aber Town should come into this game having taken a lot of positives from last weeks battling performance away to table toppers The New Saints, in particular the return to the starting line up of long-term absentee Steff Davies. Louis Bradford will be also available for selection again for tomorrow's match, having been unable to play against his parent club. Matches against Caernarfon Town are always entertaining – none more so than the last meeting between the two sides in March, when on the first game back since the winter lockdown, Aber led 1-0 until 85 minutes when Caernarfon scored a quickfire double, before Jamie Veale equalised in the final minute of added time with a sublime free kick! Town supporters will hope for a result in what may be a first Black & Green experience for many new or returning students to our wonderful part of the world - we hope to welcome you back time and time again! There is always a warm welcome at Park Avenue for all - locals, students, supporters from afar, and all in-between! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In accordance with the FAW Return to Play Protocols for Alert Level 0 Regulations, published in August 2021, please do not enter the ground if You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 28 days You have been or are currently a contact of a COVID-19 case or a suspected case You are currently self-isolating You are feeling unwell You have a cough, throat pain, muscle pain, unusual weakness, short of breath, chest pain, any palpitations (abnormal heart rate), diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, a loss of taste or smell or any other signs or symptoms of COVID-19 Please refer to HSE guidelines (https://www.hse.gov.uk/coronavirus/index.htm) on how you should proceed should any of these conditions apply to you If you are in any doubt please do not attend the fixture The Board of Directors, Aberystwyth Town Football Club Comments are closed.
