Aberystwyth Town’s Welsh Cup journey continues tomorrow with a visit to Ardal Leagues North West side Saltney Town.
 
Antonio Corbisiero’s men come into the game on the back of Wednesday’s victory at Cefn Druids, courtesy of a Lee Jenkins 34th minute goal. This victory has lifted Aber clear of the bottom two and into joint 9th place, level on points with reigning Cymru Premier Champions Connah’s Quay Nomads and was also the Seasiders second victory from the last three away league games.
 
The Black & Green Army will be hoping this form on the road will continue at Sandy Lane this weekend. Saturday’s opponents may be the lowest ranked side left in the competition, and the only Tier 3 side, but they have already pulled off a couple of shock results against higher ranked opposition.
 
Having dispatched Ruabon Rovers and Brickfield Rangers in the two qualifying rounds, they beat Y Felinheli in Round One before an excellent 5-3 victory at Cymru North side Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Round Two. In Round Three, they faced our Ceredigion neighbours Penrhyncoch, triumphing on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
 
The Bordermen currently sit 6th in this seasons Ardal North West league table, having picked up 5 wins from their opening 10 games. They come into this game on the back of a 6-0 victory at home to Blanau Ffestiniog last weekend and have won 2, drawn 2 and lost one from their last 5 league games.
 
Tommy Booth is Saltney’s top scorer so far this season, with 12 goals in league & cup combined. Ryan McCleary has 9, including the 3rd Round equaliser against Penrhyncoch, whilst Jake Johnson currently sits on 8.
