New League Cup sponsors Nathaniel MG have agreed a deal starting from the 2016/17 season. The Welsh Premier League are pleased to announce the arrival of Nathaniel and MG as new headline sponsors of the League Cup. The competition has pushed new boundaries in recent season’s building a stronger brand presence, more engaging communications with fans & stakeholders via new & social media and an enhanced television broadcaster relationship with S4C. Following the news of Nathaniel MG linking up with the League Cup, Competition Secretary Gwyn Derfel commented, “There’s no doubt that this competition is growing in stature and I believe that the introduction of the Wildcard initiative has played a major part in this growth. Denbigh Town made it all the way to the final last season capturing the imagination of the club, town and competition in the process. Let’s hope that there’s another fairy tale in the pipeline this season.” Nathaniel Cars is a family business which was established over thirty five years ago, it is based in Bridgend and serves South Wales and further afield. Nathaniel Cars has been a grassroots supporter of Welsh sport for many years including links with the FAW. Nathaniel Cars Managing Director, Wayne Griffiths added, “Nathaniel Cars are proud to expand our involvement with Welsh football and the timing with success at the Euros has allowed us to bring MG Motor UK Limited, a brand which we are all familiar with, into this opportunity at this momentous time. We are all very excited about the newly named Nathaniel MG Cup! Between Nathaniel Cars and MG look out for a few surprise awards and acknowledgements to fans and players throughout the season!” The 2016/17 competition begins this week with Round One fixtures taking place as follows: Tuesday 6th September 2016: Bala Town 5 Flint Town United 1 Guilsfield 2 Airbus UK Broughton 1 Llanduduno 2 Holyhead Hotspur 1 Abergavenny Town 1 Goytre (Gwent) 2 aet Cambrian & Clydach 1 Barry Town United 3 aet Haverfordwest County 6 Port Talbot Town 2 Wednesday 7th September 2016 Penrhyncoch v Aberystwyth Town Holywell Town v Cefn Druids Prestatyn Town v Bangor City Caernarfon Town v Rhyl FC Pontypridd Town v Newtown AFC Cardiff Met University v Taffs Well The next round draw will take place on Thursday 8th September at the Nathaniel Cars showroom in Bridgend.
