Aberystwyth Town will face their final pre-season test as they travel to play West Cheshire Division 1 side Neston Nomads on Saturday afternoon. Town secured a 3-0 victory away at Brickfield Rangers on Tuesday evening thanks to goals from Paulo Mendes, Rio Ahmadi and Geoff Kellaway, and will be looking to end their pre-season on a high ahead of next Friday's JD Welsh Premier League opener with Llandudno.
Aber's new look side for the upcoming season have looked like more of a team with each game throughout pre-season, and they will again be keen to gel and tweak any final changes ahead of the league opener at Park Avenue in 8 days' time. Last week saw the black and greens face three tough fixtures in the space of five days - starting with a narrow 1-0 defeat to AFC Telford United, before a youthful side faced a testing friendly away at Haverfordwest, losing 2-1. The seasiders' most assured performance came on Tuesday evening away at Brickfield - winning 3-0 and creating a whole host of other opportunities in front of goal. They will now be hopeful of securing another positive result as they build momentum into the start of the JD Welsh Premier League season next weekend. Saturday's hosts Neston Nomads play in the West Cheshire League First Division, and will provide Aber with another challenging test this weekend. The Nomads finished 9th in the league last season - losing just two games between January and April to surge up the league table during the second half of the season. Please note that kick off on Saturday will be at the earlier time of 1:30 pm, and the game will be played at Vauxhall Motors Football Club, who's address is listed as Rivacre Road, Ellesmere Port, CH66 1NJ.
