Aber Town’s Manager Antonio Corbisiero was full of praise for his players in conversation with Sgorio’s Dylan Ebenezer after Tuesday night’s live game, and the famous 2-0 win over Haverfordwest County. “I’m happy, absolutely. The boys put in a huge, huge shift and they were incredible tonight. They’ve given me absolutely everything. They came in at half time saying they felt like they had run ninety minutes, and we said you’ve got to run another ninety this 45, so they’ve done that for us and they thoroughly deserve what they got today.” Free entry to Park Ave for Town’s 1000th Cymru Premier match encouraged a bumper crowd of 883 to attend, a factor appreciated by Corbs and the Players: “It’s always nice to have a big crowd down here, for the players to experience what it’s like to have a full Park Avenue. It’s credit to the people who organised it tonight, so it’s so pleasing when you can go and get a result like this on such a special occasion.” Corbs also spoke with the FAW’s Callum Ellis and shared the following thoughts: “The boys were incredible. We said before the game that we weren’t going to let the occasion affect us, our mindset was on the game. We set up right, things went to plan and we are really pleased to get this victory on such a special occasion". Under pressure the Black and Greens’ young stars delivered, with the central defenders picked out for particular praise: “Our back three were immense tonight, I thought Leeroy, Bradders and Rhys followed their runners, dealt with everything and the rest of the boys, everyone put in a massive shift. For his goal, Sam has seen the opportunity and he’s taken the goal so well. He scored two versus Druids on Friday too so he’s in a good place at the moment and we’re very pleased for him.” Looking forward the Seasiders have a ten day break before travelling down to Pembrokeshire for the return fixture, away to Haverfordwest on Friday 11th February (ko 7.45pm), and Corbs is hoping the Green Army will travel in numbers to bring their traditional super away support on the night: “We’ve got the break but we’ll be in this weekend and on Tuesday, we’ll work hard again and prepare right for Haverfordwest away. It’s nice to put on a performance like that for the supporters and hopefully we’ll continue to get a little bit more support each week.” Seven more sleeps! Comments are closed.
