Aberystwyth Town face their second home outing in four days tomorrow night, as UEFA Europa Conference League entrants Penybont visit Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for Matchday 8 of this seasons JD Cymru Premier.

Anthony Williams and his team have not had the start to the season that they would have been hoping for but following an encouraging performance on Tuesday evening against Pontypridd United in the Nathaniel MG Cup, there will be a level of optimism within the squad going into this encounter.
 
This weeks opponents currently sit in fourth place in what is quite a congested Cymru Premier table at the moment, with only 4 points separating Bala Town in 3rd to Pontypridd in 8th following the first 7 matches of the season. Penybont have secured 3 wins and 2 draws from their opening 7 games, giving them 11 points at this stage. Their most recent result in was a 3-2 victory at home to Caernarfon Town last Saturday.
 
Penybont had the upper hand against Aber last season, winning both ties between the two clubs; 3-0 at Park Avenue in January and 3-1 at the SDM Glass Stadium in September 2022.
 
There are a number of familiar faces in the opposition ranks. Aber Town legend Chris Venables now spearheads their attack, having had two spells at Park Avenue earlier in his career. Manager Rhys Griffiths spent the 2015/16 at Park Avenue, netting 7 goals in 21 appearances. He is joined by former Black and Green shot stopper Alex Pennock, who swapped Ceredigion for Bridgend in summer 2022 and by Kane Owen who had a brief spell at Park Avenue back in 2016.
 
Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for this season are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free. See you there!
