Cwpan Adran Genero Trophy Rownd/Round 2 Sul/Sunday 18 Chwef/Feb CC/KO: 2yh/pm CPDM Y Felinheli v Tref Aberystwyth Town Bant a'r cart fydd hi i dim Menywod Tref Aber prynhawn yfory wrth iddynt deithio i Gae Seilo i wynebu CPD Merched y Felinheli yn ail rownd Cwpan Adran Genero. Aber Town Women continue their journey in the Genero Adran Trophy tomorrow when they travel to Cae Seilo to face CPD Merched Y Felinheli in the quarter finals of the competition. The Seasiders go into the game on the back of an incredible finale to Phase One in the Adran Premier, after a 3-3 draw with The New Saints ensured they claimed the final top four spot in Phase Two. However, before they begin life in the Adran Premier Championship Conference, they revert their attention back to a competition that they reached the Semi-Finals of last season. A place back in the final four is up for grabs tomorrow when they face Adran North side Felinheli, who are currently 2nd in the second tier after a good run of form in the league.
Five straight wins, including a convincing 4-0 away win against last season’s Adran North runners up Connah’s Quay Nomads, gives tomorrow’s hosts momentum going into the game. Aber have already faced an Adran North outfit this season in The Nomads. A 5-0 win in that game saw the Seasiders progress into the quarter finals. A brace from Gwenllian Jones helped Town on their way to a convincing win against lower league opposition, a feat they’ll be hoping to repeat tomorrow afternoon. Aber Town Women’s captain Amy Jenkins said ahead of the game: “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind for the last 12 days. To come out with the result we did (against TNS) was fantastic. Team spirit is high. We’re up for it. I know they’re a very physical team, but we’ve got players who can play in that style. It would be great for morale (to progress), but we’re not taking anything for granted.” Meddai Gwenllian Jones cyn y gem: “Rwy’n gyffrous iawn cyn gêm ddydd Sul yn erbyn Y Felinheli, gan obeithio y gallwn gyrraedd rownd gyn-derfynol Tlws yr Adran. Wrth chwarae ddydd Sul fe fydd gennym ni fantais cyn dechrau ar ail gyfnod y gynghrair gan fod y timau eraill i gyd yn cael penwythnos bant, felly gallwn ni gadw’r momentwm sydd gennym ni i fynd.” The winner of tomorrow’s Genero Adran Trophy tie will face Cardiff City in the Semi-Finals of the competition.
