After last weekend’s match at Pontypridd was postponed in rather unusual circumstances, Aber Town are on the road again and this week face a trip to Pembrokeshire to take on 7th placed Haverfordwest County. Although the Bluebirds currently sit in the coveted top spot of the Playoff Conference, they are yet to win in Phase 2; their last win coming back on Boxing Day against Barry Town United. They currently sit on 31 points, having amassed 7 wins and 10 draws from 27 games. Last weekend, they were defeated 1-0 at home to Penybont, having drawn their previous three games. This allowed Penybont to close the gap between the two sides to just one point, so this weekend’s match is one of huge importance to both Haverfordwest and the Black and Greens.
As usual in the fixture, a number of the opposition will be familiar to the Green Army. Bluebirds Manager Tony Pennock had a brief spell at Park Avenue in 2017, helping to steer the club to safety during his tenure. Lee Jenkins swapped Ceredigion for Pembrokeshire in summer 2022, having come through the ranks at Park Avenue to go on to become a reliable member of the back four and a fan favourite, whilst Ricky Watts donned the Black and Green in the 2016/17 season. Martell Taylor-Crossdale is the hosts danger man; the forward having hit 8 goals so far this season. Rhys Abbruzzese, Ben Fawcett and Kai Whitmore have all hit 4 goals each also.
