Aberystwyth Town face a second successive Friday night under the lights at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue this weekend, with Colwyn Bay the visitors this time around.
Anthony Williams’ team will be looking to pick up where they left off against Haverfordwest last week; Iwan Lewis’ first half goal being enough to secure all three points and give the Black and Greens their second win in three league matches stretching back to the start of 2024. The first of these wins was of course against Friday’s opposition, back on 5th January; Liam Walsh’s goal just after the break the deciding factor on that day. The teams also met back in September with Colwyn Bay the victors on that occasion.
Steve Evans’ side are competing in the Cymru Premier for the first time and come into this match without a league win since November. They did progress to the Quarter Finals of the Welsh Cup however, thanks to a 2-0 win over Barry Town United in December. Udoyen Akpan is the visitor’s top scorer this season, with 9 goals to his name so far. Matthew Hill has netted 4 times, whilst Alex Downes has scored 3.
Harry Owen makes a quick return to Park Avenue having joined Colwyn Bay on loan following the completion of his loan spell in Black and Green earlier in the season. He will be joined in the oppositions squad by Steff Edwards, who had two spells in Ceredigion earlier in his career: in 2010-11 under Alan Morgan and 2018-2020 under Nev Powell.
Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for this season are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free. Join us to see if Aber Town can make it back to back wins under the lights!
