Aberystwyth Town return home this Saturday for a JD Cymru Premier league encounter with Barry Town United.

This weekend’s visitors, Barry Town United, are in their first season back in the JD Cymru Premier, having been relegated back in 2022 before securing an immediate return from the JD Cymru South last year. They have so far accumulated 25 points from 25 games so far in 2023/24. Ollie Hulbert is their top scorer with 10 goals, whilst Kayne McLaggon has netted 6 times and Sam Snaith 4. This will be the fourth encounter between the two sides this season. Goals from Billy Kirkman and Alex Darlington secured a 2-1 win at Jenner Park in the Nathaniel MG Cup back in August, whilst a last-minute Mark Cadwallader goal secured a 1-0 victory at the same venue in the league game in November.
 
Barry then triumphed 4-2 at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue in the final Phase 1 game back in January. This was their first victory over the Black and Greens in seven attempts, with Aber winning six of those, stretching back to the 2021/22 season.
 
Both sides have endured mixed results since the league split in two. Aber have 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat from their first three Phase 2 games, whilst Barry have two draws and a defeat. However, they did end Phase 1 with two impressive victories: the aforementioned 4-2 win at Park Avenue and a 4-0 victory at home to Newtown.
 
This will be the Seasiders' last home game until April; with three games on the road to come. The Seasiders visit Pontypridd on 9th March, then Haverfordwest on the 15th before a trip to Colwyn Bay on Good Friday.
 
Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for this season are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free. See you there!
