JD Cymru Premier Gwener/Friday 6 Hydref/October (CC/KO 8yh/pm) Tref Aberystwyth Town vs Cei Conna/Connahs Quay Nomads Ar ol dwy gem bant o gartref, mae Tref Aber yn dychwelyd i Geredigion nos yfory am gem yn erbyn Cei Conna, sydd ar hyn o bryd yn ail yn nhabl y Cymru Prem. After two games on the road, Aberystwyth Town return home tomorrow night for a clash with high-flying Connahs Quay Nomads. Trips to Bala Town and Haverfordwest yielded a total of three points thanks to the win at Maes Tegid, and Anthony Williams and his team will be hoping to make it 2 victories from 3 matches as Neil Gibson’s side visit Aberystwyth University Park Avenue.
This fixture last season saw Aber claim a valuable win thanks to a late winner from Jack Thorn and a similar result would be most welcome as the Seasiders look to climb the table as we move into the autumn. It will be a different look Nomads who take to the field this time however. Experienced campaigners Mike Hayes, Danny Holmes and Aaron Edwards all moved on to pastures new over the summer; with Noah Edwards, Joe Faux, Ryan Stratulis and Kai Edwards being eye catching signings in addition to the return of Declan Poole following a year in England. Friday’s opposition are having an excellent season and currently sit in second place with 24 points from their opening 10 games – only two behind reigning Champions and table-toppers The New Saints. After losing 2 out of their 3 opening matches, they are currently on a seven match winning streak and come into this match having beaten Penybont 4-2 last Saturday. The Nomads currently have the JD Cymru Premier’s Top Scorer in their ranks. Jordan Davies returned to North East Wales in the summer and has hit 9 goals so far this season, two more than Newtown’s Aaron Williams who is his nearest challenger for the Golden Boot as things stand. Ben Nash and Jack Kenny also have 4 goals each. There will be a familiar face in their ranks as former Aber Town midfielder Harry Franklin is in his second season with Neil Gibson’s side. Franklin netted 13 times in 50 appearances in all competitions having joined in January 2021 during the behind-closed-doors era, becoming a firm fans favourite the following season when the Park Avenue gates opened again, before moving onto Nomads in summer 2022. Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for this season are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free. The Black & Greens are back under the lights at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue! Comments are closed.
