With only a week to go before the first competitive match of the 2023/24 season, Aberystwyth Town play their final pre-season friendly away to City of Liverpool FC.

Anthony Williams side will take on Barry Town United in the Nathaniel MG Cup next weekend, before the Black & Greens league campaign kicks off 7 days later with a home fixture against Cardiff Metropolitan University.
 
A number of trialists are expected to feature again in Bootle, as Taff finalises his squad for the season ahead.
 
Saturday’s opposition play in the Northern Premier League Division One (West) alongside the likes of Stalybridge Celtic, Nantwich Town, Vauxhall Motors & Hednesford Town. They finished 13th last season, winning 13 of their 38 matches in a league that was won by the Macclesfield FC.
 
Although City of Liverpool FC were only formed in 2015, they have already amassed a number of honours, winning the North West Counties First Division Playoffs in 2017 along with the Challenge Cup and League Challenge Cup. They followed this up by winning the NWC Champions Cup in 2018 and did so again in 2020. Sandwiched between these two victories was the North West Counties Premier League title in 2019.
 
The Purps are managed by Paul McNally and last season boasted former Newport County, Tranmere & Morecambe forward Kevin Ellison in their ranks. Their signings so far this summer include Anthony Miley who has represented both Bangor City & Bala Town in the Cymru Premier.
