Mae CPD Tref Aberystwyth yn falch i groesawi Billy Kirkman a Ben Woollam i'r clwb ar fenthyg o'r Seintiau Newydd -- gyda Billy yn ail-ymuno wedi Ail Gyfnod tymor diwethaf â'r clwb. Mae'r ddau yn ymuno â'r carfan o flaen gem prynhawn ma ar Barc Jenner. Aberystwyth Town FC are delighted to welcome Billy Kirkman and Ben Woollam on loan from The New Saints -- with Billy re-joining the club having spent Phase 2 of last season in Ceredigion. Both join Anthony Williams' squad ahead of this afternoon's trip to Jenner Park. Blackburn-born Billy joined Town on-loan in January 2023 to gain his first consistent taste of senior football, and played an integral role in the club's Phase 2 efforts to retain their JD Cymru Premier status.
Despite seeing two yellows on his debut away at Flint Town, the 19-year-old left-back went on to make 12 appearances -- 10 of which he played the full 90 -- and impressed with his pace, physicality and technical ability from the left side. Now a 2nd-year professional at Park Hall, Billy returns to further his experience at the senior level and pick up from where he left off! He told us: "Last season I thought the boys stuck together really well which definitely helped us get the results we did at the end of the season. Personally, I thought I performed and developed really well at Aber, and I can't wait to do that again this season. The club was great to be a part of and working with Taff, I gained a lot of experience and learned plenty. My aim for this season is to help the team win as many points as possible and put the club in a strong position." 19-year-old Ben will be familiar to Town fans with a keen eye, having featured extensively throughout pre-season for the Black and Greens. Born in Shrewsbury, centre-back Ben is a product of The New Saints Academy and is set to enjoy his first consistent spell of Cymru Premier action. Ben is no stranger to senior football however, having spent the 2022/23 season at Guilsfield FC of the JD Cymru North -- making 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice, and playing an instrumental role in the Guils' 4th place finish. Having already flashed his abilities throughout pre-season, Ben is set to offer another high-quality option at the heart of Anthony Williams' defence. Ben told us: "I've heard only good things about the group at Aber -- lads who want to win for each other, which is very important to any squad. My first impressions through pre-season have been positive and I think we have a really good group going into the season. Having spoken with Taff, my role is to keep as many clean sheets as possible and help the team achieve the best league position we can. I'd say my best qualities on the pitch are my pace and range of passing. My ambition for the loan is to play as many minutes as I can and get the team in the best position possible." Commenting on both signings, Anthony Williams said: "Billy brought real quality to the squad for the second half of last season and we were glad to give him a good run of games. He's got a great left-foot, he likes to get forward, and is a very good addition to our squad again. Ben had a very impressive year with Guilsfield last season in the tier below. He's been with us in pre-season and played a few games -- he's strong physically for his age and is very capable of playing this level. Both lads are excellent additions for us, so I'm delighted to get them in ahead of the season." Comments are closed.
