 Aberystwyth Town FC are delighted to announce the signing of right back Dylan Rees from Cardiff City, and the promotion of Under 19s Squad Players Dan Hopton and Sion Ewart to the First Team Squad.
Pembrokeshire based Rees is an energetic right-sided defender who spent a decade with the Cardiff Bluebirds. He signed a first year scholarship deal with City four years ago, before earned a professional contract in May 2015, going on to score the winner for Cardiff in a pre season friendly at Carmarthen that summer. Dylan had spent eight years making progress through the Cardiff City Academy, while he completed Btec qualifications equating to two A’ Levels plus his level two coaching badge. Dylan played regular under-21 team football until his release from Cardiff last year. A former Ysgol Greenhill School pupil, Dylan started playing for Tenby AFC before joining City. He travelled regularly from West Wales to Cardiff for a number of seasons before taking up a Bluebirds’ football scholarship and moving to be closer to the club. In other Squad news, Youth Team Players Dan Hopton and Sion Ewart have signed First Team forms, and Will Bell have left the Club permanently to rejoin Bala Town.
