Dafabet Welsh Premier League
Sunday 23rd October (ko 3pm) Aberystwyth Town v Llandudno Preceded by FREE Family 3G Open Day from 11.30am-1.30pm Aberystwyth Town will aim to feed off the euphoria of last Friday's stunning 4-0 win over Rhyl when they host Llandudno on Sunday afternoon, aiming for a positive result to cement their place in the list of Dafabet Welsh Premier League Top Six Contenders before the nights draw in. A 65 yard goal from keeper Chris Mullock, a headed score from Geoof Kellaway and two further strikes from the hard working Luke Borrelli, allied to a 15 year record crowd of 1168 all added up to a night which was as close to perfect as Aber were likely to get last week, and Town will look to harness the latent enthusiasm of the fourteenth by putting on a FREE Family 3G Open Day from 11.30am prior to the game, which should ensure a good portion of young Black and Greens supporters get their chance to watch Matthew Bishop's men. The return of Luke Sherbon and Geoff Kellaway was huge for Aber last week, and Bishop will be hoping that they are fit to play following a nine day lay off, as well as Chris Jones who also looked to be back to top form last week. The clean sheet earned by Mullock, Ricky Watts, Sam Rodon, Ryan Wollacott and Dan Alfei has passed under the radar somewhat but another strong defensive performance on Sunday will set the Black and Greens up for another important result. Meanwhile Greg Walters has been released to return to Haverfordwest County with best wishes from everyone at Park Avenue. Llandudno did the double over Aber last season and although they have had a mixed start to 2016/7, Town will know they have some talented players who can click to devastating effect under ex Aber Manager Alan Morgan. Dave Roberts, who kept goal for Aber in the 2009 Welsh Cup Final, is certain to start for Llandudno between the sticks. Admission on Sunday will be free for those attending the 3G Family Open Day, and £6 for Adults, £4 Concession and £1 for Kids thereafter. Ruth's Kitchen will be offering their much loved Sunday lunch in the John Charles Lounge from 11.45am onwards, so once again Park Avenue will be the place to be this weekend. We'll see you there.
