Welsh Women's League Champions Aber Town Ladies completed an excellent double after a dominant display at Park Avenue to regain the trophy they last won in 2017 writes Steven Brookes.
Following five consecutive CWFA Cup Final victories the Black and Greens were defeated in the 2018 final to Llanfair United. Last year's winners were defeated in the early round by Town who now had a chance to regain the trophy they lost last season.
Against local rivals Aber Uni, It took just three minutes for the team in green to take the lead. Forward, Ella Ramseyer-Bache scoring her first goal for the club with a very well-taken right-footed volley from the edge of the area. Despite Aber Town's dominance the Uni were defending well and as half-time approached the University side would have been pleased to be just one goal behind. That wasn't to be the case though! Caroline Cooper doubled Town's lead, scoring directly from a corner before Ella Ramseyer-Bache scored her second of the game after a mazy run by Tania Wylde. A minute before the break it was four, when Wales Youth international, Grace Morris headed in from a Cooper corner to give Aberystwyth Town Ladies a big lead going into the break.
It took just seven minutes of the second half for the Black and Greens to score again, Ramseyer-Bache completing her hat-trick with a good finish from close-range. Cooper then made it six four minutes later with an outstanding strike from outside the area. A header from Grace Morris with the help of a deflection made it seven before Tania Wylde completed the scoring with her 32nd goal of the season after dribbling through the Uni defence.
Aber Uni's keeper was able to produce some good saves to prevent the scoreline increasing further but it was the Welsh Women's League champions who secured the victory and more silverware in what has been a brilliant season.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Aber Uni on making it all the way to the final and a big thank you to everyone that attended the match.
