Aberystwyth Town FC will begin their preparations for the new season on Tuesday evening when they welcome Llanelli FC from the Cymru South to Park Avenue for a pre season friendly which kicks off at 7.30pm.

Aberystwyth Town’s 2023 Pre-Season kicks off on Tuesday evening with the visit of Llanelli Town from the JD Cymru South.
 
Eleven weeks have passed since Niall Flint’s 94th minute diving header sparked euphoric scenes at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue, as Aber secured their place in the JD Cymru Premier for a 32nd consecutive season, which will begin on 12th August at home to Cardiff Metropolitan University.
 
Manager Anthony Williams has been busy during the off-season, adding four new faces so far. Left back Akeem Hinds arrives from Stafford Rangers, former Wrexham & Sheffield Wednesday forward Calum Huxley arrives following brief stints around the English & Welsh leagues, midfielder Beau Cornish joins from The New Saints and goalkeeper Dave Jones joins after 10 seasons with Newtown.
 
A number of last seasons squad have already put pen to paper on new deals to extend their stays at Park Avenue and the management team are sure to be looking at a variety of trialists over the coming weeks also.
 
Tuesday’s visitors, Llanelli, finished 2nd in the Cymru North last season, winning 19 out of their 30 matches and pipping Briton Ferry Llansawel to the silver medal by winning their last three matches.
 
Llanelli are managed by Lee John, who Aber Town fans will remember from his time playing for Port Talbot Town & Haverfordwest County in the then Welsh Premier during the 2000s and 2010s. Their squad includes former Black & Green Louis Gerrard, who had a short spell at Park Avenue under Gavin Allen in 2020/21.
 
Admission prices for all friendlies at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue this season are set at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Another season on the Black & Green rollercoaster starts here!!
