Aberystwyth Town FC continue their preparations for the new season tomorrow lunchtime when they welcome Cardiff Met from the Cymru Prem to Park Avenue for a pre season friendly which kicks off at 1pm. Following Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw with Llanelli, Aberystwyth Town’s Pre-Season campaign continues with the visit of fellow JD Cymru Premier side Cardiff Metropolitan University, in what is a dress-rehearsal for the opening fixture of the 2023/24 league season.
This pre-season fixture has become somewhat of a tradition in recent years, with Cardiff Met visiting Ceredigion for summer friendlies in both 2021 and 2022. Met were 2-0 victors in 2021 with Aber triumphing 1-0 last year. The teams met three times in the regular 2022/23 season also, all before Christmas. Met were victorious in both league games and although the Nathaniel MG Cup encounter in September ended in a 2-2 draw, Met progressed on penalties. Last season was a successful one for The Archers. They comfortably secured a top six finish and eventually won exactly half of their 32 league matches, finishing 4th, and only missing out on a place in the Playoff Final on penalties to eventual winners Haverfordwest County. In their most recent match, they beat Cambrian & Clydach 3-2 with goals from Harry Owen (2) and Charlie Corsby. Please note that kick-off is at the earlier than usual time of 1pm this Saturday. Admission prices for all friendlies at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue this season are set at £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, and £1 for Secondary School age kids. Comments are closed.
