Wyn Thomas, in conversation with S4C's Sgorio programme, was keen to praise his attacking players after last Friday night's convincing 3-1 win over Rhyl, which returned the Black and Greens to the summit of the WPL Play Off Conference for a week at least. "It was a game of two halves as they say! But we've got players like Rhys Griffiths - he played exceptionally well tonight - Craig Williams, and Venners, really good players." Goals from Williams, Ross Stephens and Venables crowned what was in all honesty a fairly comfortable win over a Rhyl side which was relegated on Monday after a heavy defeat at Port Talbot. However Thomas was not 100% happy with the performance: "We need to defend better, Rhyl's goal was a poor one to concede again, but points are the important thing now, and we got three points tonight." Results, not performances are the order of the day at this time of the season and Town know that three wins will guarantee them seventh place in the Dafabet WPL and a UEFA Europa League Play Off Spot. Having gained 14 points from their 7 Play Off Conference matches to date, Aber will enjoy a well earned break this weekend, while rivals Bangor City and Carmarthen Town both host relegation threatened Haverfordwest County on Saturday and Tuesday respectively, before the Pembrokeshire Bluebirds visit Park Avenue a week tomorrow, Friday 8th April (ko 7.45pm).
